Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) introduces the new Sambar service linking China, Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia, while upgrading Pertiwi and Orchid routes to enhance regional shipping efficiency.
Sambar Service: Faster and more direct connections across Asia
According to MSC, the Sambar service operates as a standalone loop, offering customers faster transit times and more direct trade corridors across East and Southeast Asia.
The service will commence on October 29, 2025, with the MSC Vigor calling at Dalian (China).
Sambar Service Rotation:
“Dalian – Incheon – Tianjin/Xingang – Qingdao – Da Chan Bay – Dong Nai – Laem Chabang – Singapore – Penang – Pasir Gudang – Singapore – Tanjung Pelepas – Busan – Dalian.”
Upgraded Pertiwi and Orchid routes
The new route enhances direct connectivity between Vietnam and key maritime hubs in China, Malaysia, and Thailand — improving supply chain reliability and cutting transit times.
In addition to the new Sambar service, MSC has optimized two existing routes — Pertiwi and Orchid — to improve efficiency between China, Indonesia, and Vietnam.

Pertiwi Service: Shortens transit between North and South China and Indonesia, starting October 29 with the Athena vessel.
Pertiwi Rotation: “Busan – Dalian – Tianjin/Xingang – Qingdao – Shekou – Singapore – Jakarta – Panjang – Jakarta – Singapore – Hong Kong – Nansha – Busan.” - Orchid Service: Strengthens connections between South China and Vietnam, starting November 5 with the MSC Makalu vessel.
Orchid Rotation: “Fuzhou – Shantou – Hong Kong – Shekou – Yantian – Haiphong – Singapore – Tan Chau – Hong Kong – Fuzhou.“
