HANOI STRENGTHENS INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION TO BOOST LOGISTICS DEVELOPMENT

Hanoi Enhances Global Partnerships to Advance Logistics Sector

On October 6, 2025, Mr. Nguyễn Mạnh Quyền, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, held a working session with the delegation from the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) to discuss and promote international cooperation in logistics development for the capital city.

During the meeting, Mr. Quyền emphasized that logistics is a key service industry, connecting and supporting the economy while enhancing competitiveness. Logistics has been identified as one of Hanoi’s four strategic service sectors by 2050, along with tourism, information technology & communications, and financial services.

Vision: Building a Modern and Sustainable Logistics Hub

According to the city’s development plan, Hanoi aims to become a strategic logistics and commercial hub connecting the Northern Midlands and Mountainous Region with key economic corridors such as China, ASEAN, and the East–West Economic Corridor.

Mr. Quyền highlighted the city’s direction toward building a modern, high-quality logistics service system based on advanced technologies and digital transformation.

“International experience and cooperation will play an important role in shaping Hanoi’s logistics framework for the future,” said Mr. Quyền.
“The city will prioritize high-tech applications and sustainable development as key pillars.”

FIATA and VLA Join Hands to Support Hanoi’s Logistics Development

On behalf of the international partners, Mr. Turgut Erkeskin, President of FIATA, expressed his appreciation for Vietnam’s dynamic logistics potential, especially in Hanoi — where logistics serves as a crucial driver for trade facilitation and supply chain connectivity.

“Logistics is one of the essential pillars of the global economy. Without an efficient logistics system, economic activities cannot function effectively,” Mr. Erkeskin stated.”

Supporting this vision, Mr. Đào Trọng Khoa, Chairman of the Vietnam Logistics Business Association (VLA), affirmed that VLA will work closely with FIATA and international experts to develop a comprehensive logistics development plan for Hanoi, ensuring efficiency, sustainability, and global integration.

Hanoi: Toward Becoming a Regional Logistics Powerhouse

The collaboration between Hanoi and FIATA marks a significant milestone in the city’s international logistics integration, opening opportunities for investment, technology transfer, and human resource training.
With a clear vision and strategic cooperation from FIATA and VLA, Hanoi is on track to become a modern, sustainable, and globally connected logistics hub in the region.
